Online Therapy through lockdown

With Covid 19 restrictions being increased in some areas, and, with the introduction of a national tier system, it’s crucial to carefully liaise with your practice managers, insurers and supervisors to seek their professional guidance when considering any return to face to face work.

This is particularly important as we approach a period of time whereby there might be a further easing of tier restrictions.

You can continue to monitor the official government advice on the gov.uk website:  https://www.gov.uk/coronavirus

News about the start of a mass vaccination programme is, obviously, good news for everyone.

As Hypnotherapy practitioners, we may find that people may approach us to discuss their concerns regarding needles.

As we know, assisting someone to reduce their stress bucket levels can make all the difference for clients looking to rationalise negative feelings which they may have towards inoculation.

The rewind and reframe technique can also be exceptionally useful in helping people to overcome specific issues.

In other recent developments, you may be aware that the government has extended the potential provision of grants with its Self-Employment Income Support Scheme (SEISS).

We recommend speaking with your accountant and / or carefully reading through details regarding the third SEISS grant which can be found on the gov.uk website.

If you’re eligible then you need to submit your claim on, or before, 29 January 2021.

As we step into a New Year, it’s a chance to ‘reach out’ to potential new clients who have decided to refocus their life aims during the lockdowns of 2020.

As such, it might be a good time to ‘spruce up’ your website to reflect some of the areas where you can help people achieve their goals in 2021.

As we continue to (largely) operate on-line, please remember to be ‘background aware’ when working with clients. Professional screens are becoming increasingly popular for remote meetings (on-line prices can be very reasonable).

And, it’s certainly worth remembering to ‘tidy up’ any areas which are being used for remote work.

As always, don’t forget to check your client’s phone is working at the start of the session.

This time of the year is also a good opportunity for all of us to take a break and refocus on our own personal and professional achievements during 2020.
