Seeing clients during the lockdown phase

A number of practitioners have been able to continue seeing clients during the lockdown phase – thanks to the safety of being able to practice in a virtual arena.

Previous newsletters have discussed how to provide a session in an online setting and it’s something we’re sure you have become very adept at doing in a professional and approachable fashion.
Everything from checking that the backdrop appears neutral (and fresh) through to ensuring the music is ready, so allowing for a smooth transition from the MQ to the start of the hypnosis part.
And, of course, that all important check that the client’s phone is ‘on the hook’ before the trance part of the session begins.

It’s also reassuring for the client to know that you’re there for them. Obviously not everyone will necessarily wish to engage in on-line therapy.
As such, some may be waiting for the moment when the ‘green light’ is given by practice managers for the opening of therapy rooms. It goes without saying, of course, that it will be absolutely crucial to follow all official rulings on the matter and we also recommend all members speak with their insurers prior to a possible return to their practices.

It’s important to check cover is in place and to see if the insurer has any additional conditions which you would need to adhere to.
As you may have heard the government has reduced the Alert Level (to Three). It says there has been a steady decrease across all four nations but that the virus is still in general circulation (and localised outbreaks are likely to occur).

It would be worthwhile reading through all of the government advice and guidance on Covid-19 on the gov.uk website: https://www.gov.uk/coronavirus
And, perhaps, now is also a good time to take a look at refreshing that all important business plan or to consider marketing strategies as the country begins to re-open itself following lockdown.

It could be that opportunity to flex your finger muscles and write a blog for your website – or update some of your online material.
All of it could be useful in helping to provide a calming, reassuring voice so allowing your words to become the ‘beacon of light’ which allows someone to find the help which they are seeking.
